5/3 Austin St. Michael's Catholic Academy led 23 high school students with two teachers came to visit and learn about Chinese culture and experience the blending of different religious civilizations.
Our kung fu coach Chen Rui, performed swordsmanship, guided students to practice the footwork, leg and hand shape of Chinese martial arts, and practiced the self-defense skills.
Bob, a local volunteer, led visitors to appreciate the movie The Life of the Buddha, introducing the history and cultural heritage of Xiangyun Temple and the main shrine Hall. Accompanied by the singing of Lucky Dharma band, the students enjoyed a delicious vegetarian lunch. After lunch there was a short meditation conducted by dharma sister Ji ding and a tea ceremony conducted by Sister Li Qun. A souvenir gift and a group photo completed the days visit of the Xiangyun Temple!
