- by Li Zhou (Translated by Li Huei Huang)

On April 7th, immediately following the conclusion of the Qing Ming Filial Piety Dharma Service at Xiang Yun Temple, members of the Austin Youth Group—Natalie, Haylee, Rishi, Alex—aged between 13 and 15, along with Jeffrey who was unable to attend, shared their insights and experiences from the White Elephant Youth Camp in Houston.

They described the camp as a pivotal moment in their journey of faith and life. They gained profound knowledge about the Triple Gem of Buddha, Dharma, and Sangha, as well as insights into applying Humanistic Buddhism principles to their daily lives. Learning to manage their emotions with Buddhist teachings was particularly impactful, empowering them to navigate life's challenges with clarity. Master Hsing Yun's wisdom also provided them with invaluable guidance for their future paths. Meeting like-minded friends at the camp filled them with joy, fostering a sense of confidence and mutual support. They expressed a heartfelt desire for all young individuals to have the opportunity to participate in such transformative experiences firsthand.

Ven. Jue Ji, observing their growth and burgeoning self-assurance through the training, expressed optimism for the future of Fo Guang Shan.
