Laba Congee Offering, Presenting Harmony and Joy

On Thursday, January 18th, "Buddha's Enlightenment Day," Xiangyun Temple held a morning offering at 11 a.m. to commemorate the enlightenment of Shakyamuni Buddha and realized the truth in life on the Vajra seat, under the Bodhi Tree. Over 30 believers participated in the event. After the chanting service, Venerable Jue Ji explained the origin of "Laba Congee" and the significance of sharing it with others. The monastery and volunteers prepared the Laba Porridge early in the morning. They started slow cooking with meticulous stirring, ensuring the fusion of all ingredients to create the delicious "Laba Congee." A total of over 600 bowls were cooked. 90 people came to pick up the congee. In addition of that, Volunteers brought more than 200 bowls to share with nearby businesses, volunteer doctors and the others who couldn't attend the Offering, hoping that this warm Laba Congee brings warmth and Dharma joy to everyone.
