Wisdom lamp carries the meaning of loving-kindness and compassion, giving of light and brightening the world. Relying on the Buddha light which shines everywhere, the wisdom lamp fills the world with warmth, blessing, brightness and harmony. Lamps offering to the Buddha will be available at this temple for anyone who wishes to accumulate merits. Twenty years ago Jin Chiu started studying with Austin-based Tai Chi master Hillman Chow.  In that time, he has studied 103 forms under the master, and a few years ago Chiu started teaching Yang style Tai Chi (or Taijichuan) at Hsiang Yun Temple. Yang-style Taijichuan is very popular in China. The reason master Chiu likes to teach this particular style is for its gentle and graceful movements. The amount and length of the session is not only good for health but also for a calm and focused mind. ... (more...)
